Victims of Hurricane Katrina lost family, homes, jobs, neighborhoods--the components of daily life that build a sense of security and well-being. A month after the devastating storm slammed the Gulf Coast and New Orleans, displaced persons are surviving in shelters set up in churches and community centers across the country.
