Diabetes Mellitus Types I and II
This study is for adults with type 2 diabetes who are inadequately being treated with Glucophage and another oral anti-diabetic medication. If you qualify, your participation in the study may last up to 1 1/2 years, and you can continue taking current medications. All study related treatments and procedures are provided at no cost, and you may be compensated for time and travel. Health insurance is not required.
The research site is in Renton, Wash.
This study is for adults 18 and older who have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation and who need treatment with blood-thinning medication. All participants will receive blood-thinning medication; half will take warfarin (Coumadin), while the other half will take an investigational drug. The group you are assigned to will be determined at random by a computer. All study related visits, exams and medication will be provided at no cost, and travel compensation is available. Participation is voluntary and you may withdraw from the study at any time.
The research site is in Williamsburg, Va.
This study will evaluate the effectiveness of a drug to treat muscle wasting among chemotherapy patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Candidates must be eligible for chemotherapy, have a weight loss of 2 percent or greater over the past six months, and have a body mass index of 35 or less. Additional criteria apply. The research site is in Gainesville, Fla.
