Ultrasound

This technology employs sound waves to produce images of tissues within the body and is used at both the screening and diagnostic stages to distinguish fluid-filled cysts from solid tumors. It is safe, painless, and has no side effects. Ongoing studies are evaluating whether whole-breast ultrasound should be used in conjunction with mammography to screen high-risk women with dense breast tissue.
