Types and stages of Alzheimer's

Alzheimer's disease is often characterized by type -- early-onset, late-onset, or familial. The distinction between early-onset and late-onset is somewhat arbitrary. Doctors may also categorize Alzheimer's as mild, moderate, or severe as the disease advances.
