National Eye Institute
The National Eye Institute, a part of the National Institutes of Health, conducts and funds research on eye diseases. It provides information about age-related cataracts. This site answers questions about the causes and symptoms and discusses types of treatment.

American Academy of Ophthalmology
Board-certified ophthalmologists offer information materials for the lay person as well as clinical statements and summary recommendations for cataract surgery. A "Find an Eye M.D." service helps people locate local board-certified ophthalmologists.

American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery
