How to Get Help
As you navigate Medicare Part D, remember: There are plenty of resources senior citizens can tap for assistance in understanding and choosing a new prescription drug plan. Some groups offer personalized advice:
www.medicare.gov The government's main Medicare site contains online tools for researching, comparing, and picking plans.
medicarerights.org The nonprofit Medicare Rights Center has several brochures and fact sheets, notably the worksheet entitled "How to Compare Medicare Prescription Drug Plans."
shiptalk.org If you need one-on-one counseling, this site lists the contact numbers for each State Health Insurance Assistance Program.
eldercare.gov This government site will help you find state and local community-based organizations for the elderly.
