General Information

The Hermitage in Northern Virginia opened its doors in September 1962. It was an exciting time due to the Hermitage being the very first lifecare continuing care retirement community in Northern Virginia. Owned and operated by Virginia United Methodist Homes, Inc. the Hermitage sits on 7 beautiful acres, nestled in a neighborhood setting. Just minutes away from the finest shopping, restaurants, arts, culture and entertainment there is always something new and exciting to do!

At the Hermitage, we know you cherish your independence. That’s why we’ve created a retirement community that allows you freedom to continue your own traditions and lifestyle with the peace of mind that the continuation of care will be provided for you.

Residents can choose from a private one, two or three room apartment. You can even bring your own furniture, pictures and mementos to make your apartment a reflection of your personality, your taste, and your lifestyle.

As a fully accredited, not for profit continuing Care Retirement Community, a continuum of health services is provided by a compassionate professional staff. Three levels of care within our Health Care Center cater to each resident’s unique needs. Assisted Living, Memory Care Neighborhood, and Long Term Nursing Care.
