Cardiovascular Program
One of the busiest single cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology programs in the country. 21,763 cardiac catheterizations; 8,295 electrophysiology procedures; 1,814 open heart surgeries; 18 heart assist devices implanted. -
Cancer Institute
Area's largest outpatient cancer center. Multidisciplinary team of experts use surgery, advanced minimally-invasive surgery, chemotherapy and radiation to fight cancer, with support services to help patients and families cope. -
Stroke Center
Area's first Primary Stroke Center accredited by The Joint Commission. In collaboration with the National Institutes of Health, the Stroke Center has a state-of-the-art 3.0 Tesla MRI for superior imaging, and care pathways for superior outcomes. -
Neuroscience
The Neuroscience Institute uses advanced technology to treat patients with complex neurological conditions, ranging from brain tumors and spinal cord injuries to movement disorders. Treats more neuroscience patients than any other area hospital. -
Trauma
MedSTAR (Medical Shock Trauma Acute Resuscitation) Trauma Services offers Level I trauma care for severely ill and injured patients, and ranks among the top 10 trauma centers in the nation.The Burn Center is the region's only burn treatment facility.

Our cardiac surgery program received a top three-star quality designation from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. This three-star rating denotes the highest category of quality, and is awarded to only about 10 percent of all hospitals nationwide. -
ACSC Award
The Washington Cancer Institute received six commendations from the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer for exceeding the Commission's requirements. -
Radiology Award
The Center for Breast Health, which performs more than 15,000 imaging procedures annually, has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology. -
