National Jewish Health, Denver
Who We Are
National Jewish Health combines compassionate patient care, collaborative research, education and outreach to advance the frontiers of medicine. Our experts in respiratory, cardiac, immune and related diseases break new ground each and every day in their search for improved prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
FOCUS ON PATIENTS
National Jewish Health offers every patient access to a team of specialists who work together to provide the best possible care. This unique whole-person approach includes care for emotional, nutritional, rehabilitative and disease-management issues, as well as extensive patient and family education. Patients receive comprehensive, customized health plans that allow them to treat, manage and live with illness.
In addition to their own expertise, our physicians and staff take advantage of the most recent research, the most advanced diagnostic tools, and cutting-edge interventions to help their patients.
No matter how many doctors you have seen in the past, no matter how thick your medical chart, our expert physicians and staff will do everything in their power to understand you and your illness.
PERSONALIZED MEDICINE
The spirit of innovation thrives at National Jewish Health, where the future holds promise for dramatically improved medical care. As medicine increasingly becomes preventive rather than reactive, genetic information will be used to customize detection, treatment and prevention at the individual level.
National Jewish Health leads the field by taking an institution-wide approach to personalized medicine. Teams of researchers and clinicians from across disciplines collaborate to design projects that integrate basic, translational and clinical research questions.
Scientists and clinical researchers working closely together expedite the "bench-to-bedside" process to more quickly and safely bring new developments to patients. The result has been a century of success in the care and research of the diseases we treat, and a future that promises continuing help for those in need. "Science Transforming Life" is not just a slogan at National Jewish Health, it is our promise.
HISTORY OF GIVING
National Jewish Health opened its doors 110 years ago as a sanatorium for indigent tuberculosis patients, and expanded over the years to care for patients with other respiratory, allergic, immune, cardiac and related diseases. Guided by its original motto, "None may enter who can pay, none can pay who enter," National Jewish Health provided free care for seven decades, until 1969, to all of its patients.
Today, charity care and community outreach remain core elements of our mission; National Jewish Health continues to treat anyone without regard to race, religion or ability to pay.
As a non-profit institution, National Jewish Health relies on generous individuals, corporations and foundations for vital support. A gift to National Jewish Health supports millions of people around the world who benefit from both the superior patient care and groundbreaking research happening here every day.
