Scientists Map the Tomato's Genome

Oh great, another genetically modified abomination will soon be dominating the tomato market. Let me guess..... Monsanto funded this cracking of the genetic code "for improved taste every home gardener knows and every supermarket shopper desires". There is nothing wrong with the taste of current tomato varieties on the market. BOYCOTT MONSANTO, buy organic and non-GMO. Write your gov't representative and ask for a GMO label law so you can at least make informed decisions when buying fruits and vegetables.

Now that it has been mapped, who owns the tomato genome?

...and will in turn screw it up in much the same way Microsoft screwed up DOS and everything over the years since then.

Hmm, Well what is currently wrong with the color or taste of tomatoes? It seems to me someone wasted perfectly good money on a college education if this was the best they could do. Nobody wants genetically modified anything. Nature has been do this on its own forever. We don't need people to do it. I am just a blue collar guy no hippie or enviromentalist, but I am smart enough to know for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. You can't impove tomatoes or any other crop. Whay are smart people so dumb.

LEAVE THE TOMATO ALONE! IN FACT, STOP TAMPERING WITH ALL THE LIVING THINGS THAT CAN BE TAMPERED WITH. THAT THEY ARE WHAT THEY ARE IS NOT A MISTAKE! IF CHANGE IS TO TAKE PLACE, IT WILL OVER A PERIOD OF TIME MEASURED NOT BY OUR YARDSTICK BUT BY THE YARDSTICK USED BY THE ONE THAT CREATED EVERYTHING, INCLUDING US. A LITTLE HUMILITY IS IN ORDER!
