Obesity May Raise Odds for Painful Leg Condition

I am at least 110 pounds overweight and I have had painful lymphedema for over 10 years now. Compression stockings don't help me any more and I have a great deal of difficulty walking and even standing for more than 10 minutes. Exercise like walking makes it much worse. About a month ago I got wise and began following Dr. Fuhrman's Nutritarian diet. I have lost 20 pounds in the first month and plan to continue to get all this extra weight off. I am praying that this will get rid of the problem and give me my freedom back.

"BMI is a measure of body fat based on an individual's height and weight."

Totally wrong, just like the BMI itself. BMI DOES NOT measure body fat in any way. AT ALL. It makes no distinction between lean mass and fat...but bone is denser than muscle and twice as dense as fat, so a person with strong bones, good muscle tone and low fat will have a high BMI. According to BMI, Sly Stallone and the Rock are obese, while Hugh Jackman and Derek Jeter are overweight. see the problem?
