Dieting May Lower Hormone Levels Tied to Breast Cancer

This is not news. Anyone studying olympic athletes knows that when they are in training, many, many women stop having their periods. The combination of exercise and low body fat all but shuts off the estrogen production. This is also nature's way of keeping females in stressed situations from being able to bear children - but we forget that our biological history is actually one of scarcity and dearth, not the overabundance we've come accustomed to in these modern times. In the natural order of things, if you don't have enough food, you won't be able to bear children.

(Knowing that biological fact puts the history of women being kept from being physically active into perspective. Was it sexism, or an un-named understanding of biology from times when food wasn't as plentiful as it is now?)

OF COURSE losing weight and getting the fat off the body gets rid of the high levels of estrogen that can and do drive many breast cancers.

There IS such a thing as being TOO fertile and fat and now we're starting to see it - or at any way, 'science' is.
