" The Day The World Listened "

We the people of the greatest country in the world have the right to bear arms to protect our families from predatory individuals.

We the people of the USA have the right to protest our government when there has been horrific discrimination and neglect concerning the untimely deaths of millions of people infected with the hepatitis c virus via blood transfusions, iv drug use, medical procedures, air gun vaccines.

NOW is the time to take action in hopes of raising awareness and rising above the stigma associated with this blood borne killer of Americans and Canadians.

They are compensated in Canada for receiving tainted blood, there is no price tag to compensate a lifelong battle against this hideous disease.

This is only a measure used to calm the population into silence.

NO MORE......SILENCE

Talking to and seeing all of these people I've loved for the last eight years of running "Hepc Out Of Bounds" was a life changing event. My Heart is so full of love for them, and so full of rage for the CDC at the same time, I must take action by shouting it to everyone I can. The government and the CDC knew hep c was in the RED CROSS blood supply back in 1990...Why are they just now announcing a screening program for all baby boomers.

After we have lost hundreds of thousands of people, I'm infuriated.

Fifteen thousand a year are DYING in the good old USA each and every year due to the hep c virus, ( I believe the numbers are much greater than are reported )

22 years have now passed...

A Quarter of a MILLION people have lost their lives just because no one cared, or thought it would ever affect someone they loved and offered to screen them before. Now the CDC claims this measure will diagnose 800,000 and save the lives of 120,000 and they are proud of that statement?

Anyone that has had any procedure involving blood is susseptable, dental visits , tattoo's, hospital instruments, teen ear piercing parties.

All baby boomers should run, not walk to their local doctor and be tested ASAP.

I've dedicated myself to the people that are fighting for their lives, but now I see I am needed to start a REVOLUTION, by walking in your state, we remember the Vietnam Protesting, this will be one of peace and harmony in truth.

Everyone has the right to know.

It took me fifteen years, and six years of debilitating treatments to kill the virus to become a Dragon Warrior and that is nothing compared to the determination and rage I have developed for the people that have worked so diligently to keep this disease quiet.

Nothing will stop me from speaking the truth.

Most people with hepatitis don't have yellow eyes or skin -- yet their liver can be struggling to fight off hepatitis viruses. These insidious viruses kill liver cells and turn them into scar tissue called cirrhosis. Like termites destroying the foundation of your home, these viruses destroy liver cells one at a time until there are not enough healthy liver cells remaining to keep your internal power plant -- your liver -- functioning. If you are between the ages of 45 and 65 and still have rosie cheeks, get tested. . . and treated if you are infected to stop the carnage and save your life. aka The Liver Lady www.hepatitisfoundation.org

I am so glad that they have let us know. Your article was informative as to explaining why. At first I was suspicious of how come just the boomers. Thank you.

Sincerely JH

I AM A 62 YEAR OLD MALE IN MICHIGAN WHO BY CHANCE FOUND OUT ABOUT MY DISEASE AFTER TAKING A PHYSICAL FOR A HEALTH PLAN FOR MYSELF AND FAMILY IN A RESTAURANT I WORKED AT. MY EMPLOYER TOLD ME TO GO TO A PHYSICIAN AND HAVE A BLOOD TEST AND FOUND OUT MY ENZYMES WERE OUT OF WACK. I ALSO HAD A BIOPSY ON MY LIVER AND CONFIRMED IN 1997 I HAD HEP-C. I LOST MY JOB AT THE RESTAURANT AND FROM THEN ON MY LIFE CHANGED QUITE A BIT. I KEPT MY PROBLEM TO MYSELF BECAUSE OF THE IGNORANCE AND WAY MOST PEOPLE SAW THE DISEASE AT THAT TIME. I FELT VERY STRONG AND NEVER SICK FOR QUITE SOMETIME BUT KNEW I HAD IT. I QUIT SMOKING, DRINKING AND A FEW OTHER VICES I HAD RIGHT THEN BECAUSE I WAS SCARED AND CONFUSED OF MY FUTURE. IT DID NOT GO WELL AND MY LIFE CHANGED AFTER A FEW YEARS WITH MY MARRIAGE AND MY OUTLOOK ON LIFE. MY HEALTH WAS NOT AFFECTED AS FAR AS I COULD TELL UNTILL 2009 WHEN I STARTED GETTING VERY TIRED AND MY JOINTS AND BONES STARTED FEELING ALOT OF PAIN. THE LAST JOB I HAD I STARTED LOSING ENERGY AND COULD NOT DO SOME OF THE WORK DEMANDED OF ME. I WAS TERMINATED IN 2010 AND WENT FOR DISABILITY EVEN THOUGH I WAS NOT AWARE IT WAS A CONDITION I COULD RECIEVE BENEFITS FOR. I FINALLY, AFTER ALMOST 16 MONTHS WAS AWARDED IT AND I AT LEAST HAD SOMETHING I COULD USE TO HELP ME SURVIVE WITH MY 2 SONS. THE CDC WANTING PEOPLE TO GET TESTED IS A SUGESTION EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE VERY SERIOUS . I WISH I WOULD HAVE HAD A EARLIER WARNING TO PLAN A LITTLE MORE ITS HARD SURVIVING ON $1200.00 A MONTH. MY NOT BEING ABLE TO GET INSURANCE IS KILLING ME NOW BECAUSE I CANNOT AFFORD OFFICE VISITS OR PRESCRIPTIONS THAT COST OVER $350.00 A MONTH. I DON"T KNOW WHAT MY FUTURE HOLDS RIGHT NOW BECAUSE ITS ONLY BEEN A LITTLE OVER A YEAR TRYING TO GET BY BUT IM NOT GIVING UP. THE BABY BOOMERS WHO HAVE NOT BEEN TESTED HAVE A CHANCE TO PLAN THINGS A LITTLE BETTER BY THIS REQUEST AND I HOPE THEY USE IT. THOSE CAREFREE DAYS WERE VERY FUN BUT FOR SOME OF US SURPRISES WE DONT KNOW ABOUT CAN MAKE YOUR GOLDEN YEARS VERY FRIGHTFULL. GOOD-LUCK TO ALL.

What is the common denominator for baby boomers, what is the most likely place where a large percentage lived in close quarters, likely shared eating utensils, likely shared toothbrushes and razors, and were required to get life-saving blood transfusions, in their late teens or early 20s? Remember the military draft, where millions of baby boomer males served in the US military? Remember the war in Vietnam where several hundred thousand US soldiers were wounded in action between 1955 and 1975, most requiring blood transfusions? The notion that a significant number of baby boomers used intravenous drugs is a vicious and completely unfounded slur on this productive and creative generation of Americans.

As I have asked many doctors, with no response. What is or is there a cure ?
