I don't have MS,but I do have severe spinal stenosis, end lateral sclerosis, severe degenterative disk, abonormal neuraopathy and have been under serious pain management for almost 6 years now.I was prescribed 400 mg of morphine,12mg dilaudid and 30mg flexeril daily, and still had moderate to severe pain every single day,and I was fairly out of it.Physical therapy was tried and found to be causing further damage and neurological degeneration. That amount of narcotic painkiller cause a "loss of cognitive function" and reduced energy levels to put it mildly.I started smoking marijuana and was able to reduce my need for stronger painkillers by 1/2 AND have better pain relief and reduced muscle spasm, which is an issue for me as well as MS patients, and smoking or eating it is what helps, but smoking is best for me because of the immediacy of the effect when taken in that way.I truly hope we can stop the barbaric prosecution and persecution of people who use this amazing plant for whatever reason they choose, including recreational, but that's a different converstation.

The DEA with the help of NIDA are blocking FDA approval by groups like MAPS.org. Why are we paying our own government to grow marijuana if they wont allow us to use any for testing?
