Help. I received over 25 injections in my head, neck, back and scalp on 12/1/12. I have drooping eye and my neck is still so weak I cannot lift it w/o using my hand to push up, if I look down. This cuts out a lot of activity for me..not to mention Pilates and yoga...which help my migraines. I am afraid to get next session of these. Ant thoughts? I don't think I should have this weakness almost 6 weeks later?

I've just started receiving botox for migraines and found my migraines have gone from daily to maybe 1 day a week IF at all. I feel the pressure, which I can handle, but not the pain.

I have been suffering with chronic migrianes for 12 yrs. I've tried almost all the meds to prevent them. So far Topamax was some what effective if you don't mind kidney stones and losing your hair. As far as Triptans and Sumatriptans.. Maxalt does seem to be effective, but when you suffering multiple migrianes a week you cant take the meds necessary to ease the pain. I had one session of Botox and it was almost life changing. IT DOES WORK. I went from 16-18 migrianes a month down to almost 5! The attacks were less severe and easier to deal with. Battling the insurance seems to be the only issue for me. Tho it was 5 months since my first session, my number of migrianes per month still are fewer than before Botox. I just had my second session yesterday. Im extremely thrilled about the results of Botox for Migrianes. Finally I can live a somewhat normal life. Just because it didn't work for some, doesn't mean it doesn't work for some of us. Thank you Botox for giving me my life back!

Patients who take certain ssris cannot take Maxalt more than three times per week or they go into serotonin syndrome, which could be deadly. I have tried everything and the botox injections are the only thing that worked for me, that and exercise, no coffee and changing my diet. Too much pain medicine can cause re-bound headaches or worse, addiction.

Since this is the first email I have received from you, I am impressed with the quality of the information you are providing. It was most helpful and informative.

I have suffered from chronic daily migraine-type headaches for my entire adult life and have seen so many doctors, all with limited or no relief. I now feel much more informed about the latest treatments and will discuss these with my neurologist in my next appointment.

Thank you for the work you are doing! I am so happy to see this site and feel that I am not alone in my quest to find suitable treatment for my headaches!

As a migraine sufferer who has been receiving botox for several years, I can attest to the fact that it DOES work...at least for me. I have found that preventatives such as Topomax and Inderal have serious side effects, such as depression, and are therefore useless for me.
