Very informative article! I'm also a caregiver, but of two parents with cancer. My mother's been battling bone cancer for almost 9 years and my father's been battling brain cancer for 2 years. It has taken its toll on all three of us..physically and emotionally. We have very little outside help, but our love keeps us going. It's a very tough road to travel. Thoughts and prayers to all the patients and caregivers out there!

I took care of my husband for 3 years while he fought pancreatic cancer. That definitely took a toll on my health. Prayer and a good support system are crucial! So is exercise. I did not exercise and i gained 30 lbs. Its an all around overwhelming experience.

It's important for husbands and wives to always find support when caring for their spouse. Micheal Statler wrote a book called Still Have Faith to help other's who are caregivers. He stayed by his wife's side for 20 years during her breast cancer. He gives poignant advice that is useful to so many caregivers. Here is his Website: http://stillhavefaith.com/
