We have too many laws in this country in many cases but cyberbullying is one area where we are lacking. First amendment?! I can assure you these cowards going in and posting lies is not what our forefathers meant. We need a strong federal law that states if you libel or defame someone you have committed a federal crime. Period.

That has always been my point. Those that hide behind keyboards know what they are doing and choose to do it anyway. Freedom of speech has limits when it comes to libel. There was a case decided a few days ago regarding libel occurring on the very trashy site, Topix, where a couple was awarded money. What is going to have to happen is prosecuting people who choose to harm others and if you really want something done, then the United States needs to review the poor law called the Communications Decency Act Section 230. It states a website cannot be sued directly. In some cases, the website for failing to put measures in place IS at fault. If that would change then there would be less bullying allowed.
