Financial scam may easy to cope up slowly, as what saying say: money may lose but we can earn it again but when it comes to love, emotion rules and it's not easy to cope up easily when emotion runs in any person.

The man in the attached pictures is a scam artist in Accra Ghana who has scammed me out of just under $8,000 usd.I would appreciate anything you can do to post his picture and have him caught before he continues to scam others. I have lost my job because of this man and almost lost my home and still may yet lose my home. I owe loans I took out because I believed his story and he was so compeling and it will take me several years to pay off these loans after I aquire another job.

I have heard several stories about online dating scams and the problems that they present. I can only imagine how disillusioning and disheartening something like that has to be. I personally avoid any and all websites that do not have a strong screening process. My favorite dating site so far is ivydate.com, which screens its users based on educational and professional credentials (among other qualities). I can only recommend it thus far.

Great article to bring attention to this important issue. I run a unique online dating site in NYC and Boston area called www.TruConnection.com (a place to write and meet others), and I have caught a few 'romance scammers' sign up on my site. Because TruConnection is free and growing quickly, they find it appealing. Luckily, we require Email address verification on the site, and for each signup I check it against an online database of 'romance scammers'. This isn't perfect -- they can change their address -- but it is helpful.

Best thing, of course, is for online daters to never (never) pay money to anyone they meet online, no matter what.

It's sad. I've dealt with scammers and those they scam (who prefer to refer to themselves as "scam survivors) for over 6 years. Romance scams are the ones that hit hardest as there's not only the financial loss, but a loss in belief in humanity and the feeling of self worth. The people who fall for romance scams are only guilty of wanting to find love.
