I can agree with this study, as I am such a woman. I was already active before my diagnosis. I continued after surgery, during chemo, and now during radiation. I was able to recover much quicker after each chemo and kick the resulting fatigue, which was the worst for me. My mental state was very positive throughout. I did feel sad and depressed on the 24 to 36 sick hours after chemo, but I wrote down my fears and sadness in my journal. I didn't need anyone to help me around the house. I just left chores undone; they were my motivation to get up when I felt well enough. Keeping your weight steady and eating even when things taste awful is helpful as well.
