Epilepsy Leads to More Brain Abnormalities Over Time

I suffered with seizures all my life. In 2003, I underwent surgery for a cyst that was behind it all. I haven't had trouble in years until recently, when I woke up in the midst of a seizure. I am now almost 59, and the only trouble I seem to notice is a slight decline in my learning abilities. Is this attributed to age or the seizures over the years?

I have lived with epilepsy my whole life. I've been through a total of4 surgeries in 15 yrs for mine. 2 out 4 were surgical tests. The other two were actual surgeries.

One on the right temporal lobe. That cut my seizure temendously. the second was a VNS. Since the VNS in 08 I've been seizure free for 4 yrs.
