This is a wonderful article. I am the mother of Mason Medlam. He wandered and drowned in 2010. He died two days after I pulled him out of the pond across the street. He was barely five years old.

We didn't know what wandering was until Mason died. 1 out of ever 110 children are diagnosed with some form of autism. 92% of autistic children wander. The leading cause of death among autistic children that wander is drowning.

Thank you for writing this article. I am going to share it with everyone I know.
