(HealthDay News) -- The most common type of heart disease occurs when fatty plaque deposits build up on the walls of vessels that carry oxygenated blood to the heart.

- Keep cholesterol, triglycerides and blood pressure under control.
- Don't smoke.
- Maintain a healthy body weight.
- Get plenty of regular exercise.
- Limit alcohol consumption.
