Health Tip: Is Your Blood Pressure Too Low?

Here are possible explanations

(HealthDay News) -- While high blood pressure is the more common medical issue, people can also have low blood pressure, medically called hypotension.

The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute mentions these possible causes:

  • A heart condition that reduces blood flow to the rest of the body.
  • The blood disease anemia.
  • A significant infection.
  • A thyroid problem, diabetes or Addison's disease.
  • Parkinson's disease.
  • A blocked lung artery (pulmonary embolism).
