I LIVE IN UK AND HAVE WET MACULAR DEGENERATION IN BOTH EYES. THEY HAVE STOPPED TREATING LEFT EYE BUT I AM STILL HAVING INJECTIONS IN THE RIGHT EYE. IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO BE TREATED WITH THE STEM CELLS IF I PAID FOR IT. I AM 69 YRS OF AGE AND HAVE HAD THE CONDITION FOR THREE YEARS.

"....But the use of such cells is controversial because it involves the destruction of a human embryo...." Do the research. This process by Advanced Cell Technology does NOT involve the destruction of a human embryo. That's a reasonably significant part of this story. When President Obama gives his state of the union address, I believe he will mention support for this rapidly growing field of medicine (regenerative medicine).
