My grandchildren went twice for the vaccine only to be turned away. Sebelius states--"don't get discouraged" well its too late 2 of my grandchildren have contacted H1N1. I've seen nothing but excuses, lies and incompentence with Sec Sebelius. When is she going to stop saying what SHE thinks people want to hear and start speaking the truth?? The President's children had no problem getting the vaccination....they didn't have to wait in line or go back several times. Why do they get special treatment? Is this part of Healthcare Reform??? Kill the babies?

For those who will die waiting for a vaccination, what good is the promise/disclaimer "Anyone who wants a vaccine will eventually be able to get a vaccine"?

Let God safe the Queen, Obama will save the sick.

According to the World Health Organization, about 4000 people worldwide have been killed by the H1N1 since April. Around 3000 deaths occurred in the Americas, 1,000 people have died of it in the United States and 20,000 have been hospitalized. One million of Americans in 46 states have H1N1. The rates of illness continue to rise rapidly within many communities across America and the potential exists for the pandemic to overburden health care resources in some localities. Sick people are already flooding some health care facilities and there isn't enough vaccine available for everyone who needs or wants it.

Rightfully, President Barack Obama declared the H1N1 flu outbreak a national emergency. The declaration permit hospitals overwhelmed with H1N1 patients to bypass some bureaucratic requirements and focus on patients. With seasonal flu, over 90% of deaths and about 60 percent of hospitalization occur in people older than 65 but H1N1 flu cause greater disease burden in people younger than 25 years of age than older people. Yet Obama opponents roll out the boogy-man preparing a Halloween of their own. The 1918 Spanish Flu killed an estimated 50 million to 100 million people worldwide. This won’t append this time, thanks to people like Obama.

Josh, there is a thimerisol-free version of all flu vaccines now. That issue has been resolved.

If Goerge Bush were still President this would be Katrina II. In fact, Bush took a drubbing in the media on the issue of "allowing" US vaccines to be available only from one overseas supplier in about 2004. Somehow in this case the Swine Flu fiasco (ask any nurse or Doc if you think otherwise - or a parent like me with a child with asthma and heart disiese who has called the pediatrician each day for the injectable vaccine), is entirely the fault of the bad bad pharma companies.

With my wife and daughter now sick with H1N1, how do I keep my family safe? Great headline by the way - how consoling for those that have lost children and those who stressed over the virus that evenutally they will be able to get the vaccine. Where are the stories of the frustration of health professionals? Where is the investigation of who in Obama Admin. did what and when? Where are the screaming headlines that say "H1N1 Vaccine will be too late for vast majority of US!"?

I am a nurse practitioner volunteering my extra time caring for people in a satellite flu clinic at my hospital, but I can't get a H1N1 vaccine (yes, I get paid..). My daughter has a preemie baby in a NICU, and I had to make a choice. I won't go down to visit for a while. The flu is so bad right now here that we are overwhelmed. But why can't we health workers get the vaccine? Where are the priorities right now?

"We are still not seeing significant numbers of cases among the elderly," says Frieden, yet among the laboratory-confirmed deaths in the US from this new flu so far, 96 (9.6 percent of total) have been children, and 7 percent (approximately 70)of total have been elderly. Will the CDC or HHS please explain what they mean by "significant"? Or by "eventually," while they're at it.

When can we expect to get these? I really believe in being vaccinated, but cannot find it anywhere here in Salt Lake City, Utah
