Environment May Play Role in Racial Health Disparities

I wish this article was more clear on the ways that race can shape your environment to the point that your blood pressure is affected.

Another explanation for why health disparities between racial groups exist is doctor discrimination. Doctors don't treat all their patients the same. Doctors are people too, and they are not immune to race.

I'm an Asian American woman in my 20s, and a lot of MDs dismiss my questions & concerns as "female anxiety." Doctors will pat my hand & reassure me that everything will be fine without stopping to hear what I'm asking. Excuse me, I thought this was 2009, not 1950.
