I, too had a similar circumstance in California. I am 58 years old and came down with something 102 temp, hard to breathe, lethargic, chills. I also had diverticulitis, when they did the ct of my stomach they found I had pneumonia. A regular chest x ray did not show it. I was in the hospital 3 days. I have never had anything like this. My grandchildren had it 2 weeks prior and I have never seen them so sick. This was at the end of April. I asked them to swab me and they refused. They said that if I had swine flu I would be much sicker. It took me a month to get better. I think our government is hiding something. I just pray we all make it. Very scary stuff.

I am glad that we got luck in that this strain turned out to be nothing but a dry run for the hospital system(s). This event showed, though, just how badly our media will hyperbolize and distort facts to try to scare the population.
Grades:
Hospitals - B (this report gives good reasons for that grade)
Media - D- (distortion of facts without placing facts in adequate context, hyperbolizing with conjecture, causing widespread panic over very little)

We all know now this thing was a scam. The question is why. They think hundreds of thousands of people had it and barely got a runny nose. We all know now the tens of thousands that die every year of the ever changing yearly flu's makes this look ridiculously mild. So why did they give this years particularly mild new strain of flu a name and try to terrorize you with it. That is the question. Here comes the remedy.

Apparently goe government learned from it's last response to a Swine Flu outbreak. In the 70s, the virus itself killed 1 American, and the government vacine killed 25.

Shocked as an RN just admitted to the hospital a few days ago with confusion, uncoordinated balance and a temp of 103.6 with extreme congestion and very thick flem that I was not isolated in the hospital or no special test for this flu was given for my dx. Only after 3 days in the hospital did they decide to test me and not with the flem they took days ago no with about a 4 inch swab into my nose. Then they started to wear gloves and a mask that day. Later in the day after telling me I was staying overnight I could go home in the evening! Never told me when I could return to work or any home precautions! I wonder how many people have this and are walking around the streets or dying. It appears if all hospitals are similar, and I was at what is considered to be a nice professional one, nobody keeping numbers on the actual count.
It would appear that the USA or someone has instructed them to not try to get the numbers too high for this flu! I as a professional and parent do not want to pass this on.
