My grandson has a hard time being consistent in remembering Math = terrible time with the times table. Some days he gets them right and the next day it seems like he never new it before. It is very frustrating. He would rather be doing something with his hands like planting flowers, gardening, making something, etc. He is in the fourth grade in a special school for learning disabilities. It is a great school, however he continues to struggle with Math...............

I would be interested to know what structured help Pat's son received... It seems to me we have pinpointed reading help more successfully than math.

Its pretty cool that I happened to look at this newsletter tonight and saw this topic because my son who is 12 yrs old and was found to have math difficulty just last year in Fifth grade his problems stared actually in 3rd grade but didn't come to light until last year after having to repeat 5th grade because of state test scores and this year he is in 6th grade and has just recently brought his math grade from a failing grade back up to a C and is finally gettin g the structured help that he needs.
