Apparently, the arrests of the 4 Americans was not police initiated but were driven by a report made by a jealous rival AIDS organization.
The trial will be Sept 27th.
Let's all give the police the necessary time to get to the bottom of this. If it is true that this was spawned by a rival AIDS agency then I trust that the central government will reprimand the culprits to the fullest extent.
The patients apparently went without the much needed medications as a result of this debacle. This is an example of individual greed and the subsequentactions of local law authorities which were blown way out of proportion fueled by an overly zealous press who is always perched to denigrate the central government.
Unfortunately, this is the kind of thing that inappropiately resonates internationally and does no good for anyone.
Free the Americans. Get the medications to the patients.

Does anyone care to ask the patients of the two clinics what they think about the arrests?
Ten years of operation in Mutoko and Harare and the authorities are just now finding out about it? Not true.
These US and Zimbabwean health workers were obviously working with the blessing of the Zimbabwean government all along
Lets not politicize this obvious case of true humanitarianism and internationalism. Lets give thanks to the Zimbabwean government for getting beyond the politics all of these years and welcoming the aide. This was obviously the action of a local jurisdiction which was not sanctioned by the central government. Hence, the Zimbabweans and Americans have now been released to care for the people as they have done in the preceding 10 years. Stop attempting with your efforts to paint an "all evil Mugabe"... we just don't buy it!!!!
The real question is…what is the name of the slefish individua whol became so greedy as to stop poor patients from receiving free medical care?
Who is it who tried to make a few dollars by restricting love and concern for human life? I can bet you that said person is right now being punished by peace and justice loving Zimbabweans and Americans alike.
The culprit need to be routed out. The Zimbabwean and Amercian governments needs to take a stand and order the immediate release of these health workers and let them continue. They were formerly woking under the auspices of a California licensed African-American HIV specialist who was also a licensed Zimbabwean physician. Please note that the current group of arrestees included two duely licensed Zimbabwean physicians.
