This is why it is critical that every school have a fulltime, specialized RN a s a School Nurse(not a health aides and not brand new nursing grads lacking in experience). Often, School Nurses are the ONLY access to health care and mental health services for some children. If school districts cannot find (or prioritize) the funding to do this, we must find other ways to provide this esssential safety net. Mr. Obama, this should be a centerpiece of healthcare reform. I am not talking about school based health centers which sometimes double dip by taking grant money and insurance reimbursement and only see students who are signed up for services; School Nurses provides care to ALL students.

Americans are hoping that through the health care reform, this kind of problem with regards to health insurance even those for adults will come to an end. However there is no guarantee that the PPACA can control costs and keep it down. The only thing I think will be guaranteed is that most Americans will now have access to health care. Hopefully through the health insurance exchange, people can not only have easy access to health care but can also afford to their medical costs.
