I'm known as an unusually nice individual with nothing harsh to say towards anyone (if I have nothing good to say, I prefer to say nothing), but there are times when one must call out right and wrong. Reeves works for Reeves, not for the high position entrusted to him, his country or the public. I'm working full time on dealing with M.E. (or CFIDS or whatever this ends up being called) and that limits what I can do about Reeves. Severely. Perhaps someone with a legal or political background can build this case; I suspect that if a decent case is built, showing CDC's deliberate mishandling of this issue, they'll be bypassed and honest, capable people can set up long term, reliable support for the research which must be done.
I must say that Reeves wearing a sandwich board for a couple decades would serve as a fine deterrent for public corruption.

THE SPOUSE UNDERSTOOD WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH ME AND FROM THAT POINT ON WAS HELPFUL AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE HELL I WAS LIVING IN. THIS IS A BOOK THAT IF A FAMILY MEMBER OF A CFIDS-SICK PERSON READS, WILL FINALLY UNDERSTAND HOW A TERRIBLY SICK PERSON FEELS.

DO NOT GO TO THE CDC SITE ON CFIDS. THERE IS NO REAL INFORMATION THERE. GOOGLE AND FIND REAL MEDICAL SITES WITH INFORMATION. THE CDC/CFS WILLIAM REEVES DO NOT BELIEVE THAT CFS IS A REAL PHYSICAL DISEASE, THEY BEIEVE THAT IT IS IN YOUR HEAD AND PUSH FUNDING TOWARDS SOLE SOURCE AWARDS FOR ABT ASSOC. I believe we can sue the individual and not the gov't (or it takes a lot of time, money, effort, etc, etc) to sue the government but not so an individual. I do believe it is time to sue Reeves. I and others have pushed HARD on Congress, GAO, IG's, media, etc. to investigate the CDC and the CDC/CFS program.
And though not one for conspiracy theories, I DO believe that the CDC knew that there was at least ONE if not TWO Retroviruses OUT in the public and in the nation's blood supply. I think the CDC KNEW it and has covered it up using the CDC/CFS as the cover. When it finally comes out what and when they knew all of this the CDC will be destroyed, as it should be.
It makes me and others NUTS when the CDC pushed faked numbers for faked "epidemics" like Swine Flu. The CDC issues death numbers from Swine flu from 1,400 to 4,000 to 10,000 and without any real accounting, just computer generated and hyped for more Federal funding justificatoin. The CDC has cried wolf on SARS, Bird Flu and way too many other foolish issues so that the American Public no longer listens or believes the CDC. This is a real shame since we DO Need a major health organziation like the CDC was supposed to be but no longer is. Sad indeed.
I hope the new head of the CDC understands the massive problems at the CDC and just doesn't play along. I fear this guy is a light weight and will concentrate on obesity, smoking and other not really CDC-Mandate issues. He pulled the plug on smoking in NYC, Kudos to him for such a big deal. I'm a smoker so I'm NOT impressed with this stupidity.
So, to the lawyers who are able to do some real legal work against Reeves and his buddies in crime, PLEASE start the process and put it out on the web on the major CFIDS sites. People will then JUMP on it and sign up, etc. I would and will help in anyway possible to have Reeves put in jail OR given a pint of nice, sick CFIDS blood. Let him be sick like us so he knows what HELL feels like every single miserable day of his life - or what remains since he's nearly ready for retirement.

Where did the CDC place this incompetent fool?
Why won't the CDC remove him, retire him or fire him? What does he know that they don't want made public?
Where is William Reeves and what is he doing?
The CFIDS community MUST watch Reeves and his activities with CFIDS. He MUST be gotten away from any more to do with CFIDS. The CFIDS community must also made sure that the Retrovirus replication at the CDC is not messed up as they messed up the DeFreitas study in the late 1980's.
Where is that unethical moron William Reeves???

It is also my legal opinion that HHS must formally recommend to the US Attorney General (and to the US Solicitor General that she submit an Amicus Curiae brief recommending) the following:
That William Reeves be prosecuted civilly and criminally for torts and Crimes against the United States of America,
TO WIT:
-Treason;
-Abuse of Public Office;
-Perjury to Congress;
-Violation of Civil Rights Act;
-Hate Crimes; and
-Generally being a pitiful excuse for a primate.
and that the US Attorney General formally recommend to the World Court and the International Court of Human Rights that he be prosecuted for
-Crimes against Humanity and
-Violation of Human Rights.
His sentence should be to
-have all his assets seized and donated to the WPI;
-stand at the Washington Monument with a sandwich placard on him reading "I am guilty of destroying more American lives than Osama bin Laden" and hand out literature describing his crimes and the truth about ME;
-sleep in a cardboard box outside Union Station for 20 years (don't waste anymore tax dollars on this clown by sending him to prison; although reasonable people could disagree on this one).

WE must keep an eye on this morons whereabouts and keep him AWAY from the XMRV replication being done in the Retrovirus program at CDC.
What really must be done is to investigate Reeves, hia associates, and contractors (ABT Ass. and Emory University Mind Body Program) to see where over $150 MILLION DOLLARS has gone. Certainly NOT real medical research for CFIDS. Pockets must be lined since only the psychobabble crap is being done and peddled as "real" science.
CONGRESS: INVESTIGATE REEVES AND THE CDC/CFS PROGRAM GOING BACK OVER THAT LAST 25 YEARS!

REEVES must go. Investigations into his role as Head of the CDC/CFS program must take place. His relationships with his contractors ABT Associates and Emory University/Med School/Psych Dept MIND-BODY Program must also be investigated as there are many claims that funding for these contractors has been wasted and allegations of waste, fraud and abuse hurled at the contractors and REEVES.
In the last 25 years, more than $100 MILLION DOLLARS have been wasted and NOTHING of value has been produced from the CDC/CFS shop. NOTHING. So here we are with millions of very sick and disabled people and not a damn thing to show for all that time and money. Well, except maybe Reeves and his contractors have made some money- that needs to be investigated by Congress and the GAO now.
