Health Buzz: A Little Milk for the Lactose Intolerant

I am astonished that the NIH & American Academy of Pediatrics are now acting as shills for the dairy lobby.

People descended from northern Europeans & a few African tribes are the only people on the planet who regularly eat dairy products. Yet people who eat a western diet that includes lots of dairy are the only ones who suffer from osteoporosis & heart disease as a general condition of aging.

We do need more unbiased research about what is causing these diseases, but it shouldn't be research into how to force more people to eat dairy.

This is psychopathic nonsense. What are we, mere slaves to whatever sick industry wants our cash?

After two surgeries in my life and wondering what was causing it, I did the research to save my own life. I found that the information about not being able to digest milk sugar was was in the literature but the medical community was ignorant and the milk lobby was not about to make the information public. Once I realized that I had a enzyme defficiency I quit drinking milk and I have had good health ever since.

HealingNews' comment is sheer absurdity. Osteoporosis? Really. Check your research. There has been no link between high protein diets and osteoporosis and/or bone loss.

Who paid who to get this information out? Simple: Calcium in milk is NOT easy for humans to assimilate, and because cows milk has app. 3 times the protein content of human mother's milk, it can in fact lead to osteoporosis. We with the web's Healing News Network have done extensive research on this. Truth: Many in the factory farming biz as well as those in conventional medical practice have a lot to lose if the real truth is propagated instead of misinformation and tainted poisons passed off as "safe" by the FDA. Look at the sources for this article to fully understand the "money train".

This is irresponsible. And to "really"- it's not made up- perhaps you are the "ignorant jerk". Trust me, you know if you have this because within a very short time of ingesting dairy, you will know it's bad!

The largely caucasian descendents of peoples who were exposed to cattle and goats thousands of years ago are able to digest milk. That is because milk is nutritious, and being able to digest milk is a strong evolutionary advantage. This doesn't mean drinking milk will make you fat. It does mean being able to drink milk will make you less likely to starve if there's only grass around.

Many of those descendents now live in economically priviledged societies and have more obesity and related conditions such as atherosclerotic disease, stroke, diabetes, etc., but that less to do with drinking milk than with eating too much ... of everything else. Also, the complex of certain immunologic conditions are more common in certain groups of people. MS is more common in peoples living in northern regions, for example, and the ability to drink milk also happens to be so distributed. Drinking or not drinking milk will have no effect on your chances of developing these disorders. If your immune system decides it doesn't like milk (i.e. if you're allergic to milk), you'll not enjoy the effects of drinking it, and will likely stop.

Listening to bad, misleading advice (such as that above) is far more dangerous and kills far more people than drinking milk.

Milk is only usefull for fattening babies and grown ups shouldn't be drinking milk. Check out the paleo diet, it's a great diet that says to stay away from all dairy products.

I developed severe lactose intolerance a few years ago and cannot tolerant any amount of lactose - not even the tiniest amounts. I just discovered the hard way that some prescription medications (pills) use lactose as filler (check the ingredients). Even that miniscule amount caused me a whole day of misery. It's irresponsible to tell people that it's ok to have *some* lactose. Perhaps some can, but many can't. Anyone attempting to reintroduce lactose- containing foods should procede with extreme caution. I should add that I've been able to use lactose-free milk successfully, so it must truly be 100% lacose free.

Or perhaps it's just another made up allergy/disease/syndrome/condition from an over protective nation full of ignorant jerks who believe whole heartedly in this crap.
