Hospital coverage? Trauma, infection, illness can decimate a savings account.

I really like this idea of dealing directly with doctors, insurance for me is a rip off.

My husband and I just opened our own direct-model family medical practice in Lawrence, KS and are really looking forward to serving this community. Affordable prices and innovative services (house calls, educational website, virtual visits, etc.) will make our practice unique and fun. Check us out at neucare.net.

Yes, if you leave people alone.........eventually they will solve their own problems. I am an RN MSN CNS and have lived without insurance most of my 57 years! My husband has mantle cell lymphoma and it returned. Our medicare co pay is $35,000 yes $35,000 for the Bendamustine and Rituxan. I pay cash for his meds which is less than the medicare premium since he has no meds until he gets sick. I used to work for Blue Cross doing medical reviews. Angela Braley, CEO earns 1.5-2 million in pay plus another 8-9 mil in stock options. I was only one RN and earned 80K a yr and there are thousands more employees!! Multiply that times the 4,000 (correct me if I'm wrong) insurance companies and divide that by 300 million American's. Wellpoint even owns the RX companies. I have studied this for 20 years since I pay cash for drugs. Medicare mandates you pay 24-40 a month even if you don't have drugs. Then they overcharge for the drug by 80%. I got quotes for a med for $200 and paid $24 for it at healthwarehouse.com. WE ARE ALL BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF ESPECIALLY SENIORS DUE TO THE PROFITS BEING MADE BY INSURANCE COMPANIES AND THE PRESCRIPTION DRUG PLANS SO THEY CAN KEEP THE PRICE HIGH!! I am so tired of seeing hospitals buy up all the MD practices and people having their houses taken or leined because of PRICE GOUGING THE INNOCENT. WE NEED TO PROTECT OUR SENIORS AND OUR DISABLED FROM THIS!!! I would work free as a clinical nurse specialist just so that I could have any MD support services should I need them. WAKE UP AMERICA AND CHECK OUT ALL THE BRAIN WASHING COMMERCIALS FRIGHTENING YOU INTO BUYING WHAT YOU DON'T NEED. I have written a book that I haven't published yet. No title yet but basically it gives to you everything I have learned over the past 20 years working and I want it to be free to anyone who wants a copy. Right now I'm taking care of the love of my life for the past 27 years who's cancer has returned but my fury on this subject will never die so I'll be back.

This is a model of cash pay I think we'd be interested in.

I go to a "cash-only" acupuncture/chiropractic/weight loss clinic in Bentonville, Arkansas. I no longer believe in western medicine. Surgery aside, routine trips to the MD are a thing of the past. I've managed to beat Diabetes Type II with lifestyle modification all thanks to Dr. Wil McCauley. The guy sees 3 patients/hour and charges $35/visit. I have an extremely high deductible insurance plan for that catastrophic occasion. But life is different now that I've dumped the meds and began to excercise again. A chiropractic lifestyle is for me and should be for you too!

Still going for immortality using google, mixing herbs, and seeing yourself or a non-physician for your total care? That 90% percent still working for you? Do you charge yourself for your robust expertise, with all your online or dreamed-up degrees from you world experience? If you have to think "long hours" about a diagnosis, then that probably tells you that you stink at diagnosing! I guess then you can revert to using google! You're so funny!
