Overmedication: Are Americans Taking Too Many Drugs?

I'd like to see research conducted on the courses doctors are required to take in their field of study. My bet is that they take more drug and chemistry courses than they do health and nutrition courses. I'd also like to know who is funding the courses and giving all the scholarships/grants (is it the major drug companies?). This hideous issue is somewhat like the gas price issue, where corporate greed and collusion take over. Very sad (my grandparents are rolling over in their graves). I took more advice from them than doctors (when they were living). Heck, I would even go as far to bet that the pharmaceutical companies invent diseases just so doctors will prescribe their drugs. They own the doctors. Also, are doctors getting kickbacks from the pharmaceutical companies? Reporters need to dig deeper.

too many drug ads and too much medication in America simply because citizens allow corporations to run the country. There is no end in sight to this trend.

Gee..could it be possible Americans are over-drugged because they see tons of drug commercials every single day on TV? How about drug ads in every magazine ?
How about all the doctors who over-prescribe drugs because it's easier then telling people they should exercise more, and lose weight ? Many doctors have admitted this is one reason they tend to over-prescribe in lieu of lifestyle changes- after all, the patients will demand the drugs, because it's easier and faster ! There's a litany of reasons why Americans are over-drugged. Big Pharma, doctors, and the patients themselves ALL share blame in this situation.

...for any purpose other than medical is a hopeless cause! Hey, I've had my ups and downs, but no drug in the world is going to fix whatever non-medical problem I'm having at the moment!

misdiagnosis's are more prevalent than ever. the pharmaceutical firms taut' solutions for maladies with no known cause worsening the condition and oftentimes requiring even more extensive treatmennts. antibiotics ,neoroleptics,analgesics. in many instances leading to an eventual paralasis and death .
