Salsalate As a Type 2 Diabetes Treatment? It Looks Promising

My primary care physician (with an okay from my endocronologist) started me on salsalate about 8 months ago. I also have arthritis and haven't had good luck with other anti-inflammatories. My blood sugar levels came WAY down once I started on the salsalate. Twice in the past 8 months I've had to get off the salsalate in order to take a more high-powered anti-inflammatory for joint pain. My blood sugar levels went back up (I'm also on metformin) but came back down to normal levels again each time I started back on the salsalate. I swear by it. It works for me. No way was I waiting for clinical trials to be completed. It's a safe drug and I have arthritis so I figured I'd do my own "trial" and I"m glad I did.

I AM 68 YEARS OLD, and, I would rather start taking an experimental drug now, not waiting to see if it might help when I am 78 and that much closer to my average age for death.
