I had Open Heart bypass surgery 8-07 & Balloone surgery on my heart 7-09.The F D A has been a Joke. G S K is ONLY concern about Profit, Money!! The Senators & Congressman are only worried about getting Big Bucks from Big Pharma to stay in office. The Lawyers will say O, you have a case, then it is all dropped-Wonder Why???? Avandia has harmed so so many yet it is still on the market. Someone Please Help--

I took Avandia for quite a while with no ill effects. However, after reading the reports of heart problems associated with Avandia, I discussed the possibility of switching to Metformin with my doctor. he agreed to give it a try. I am doing just as well with this drug, and it is a generic, which saves me cash.

Interesting about the side effects of Avandia. Every drug that anyone takes has some side effect. One should weigh the various side effects of any medication one takes. That is part of each person's responsibility for her/his medical treatment. I have taken Avandia for several years. I weighed the side effects and felt the medication served its purpose; it worked for me; and I have been pleased with the results.

Issue of cancer is with all insulin. And cancer is also a growing segment and not only this the chances of developing cancer in diabetic patient is higher than the healthy volunteer. Now its a chance to develop cancer in the patients who are on lantus. I am related to health-care business. And as I know lantus is safest insulin available. And also I have seen the article published in Diabetologia and they all are confusing and contradicting their own statement and not only this it shows some biasness. It may be pharma company war where leading player in Insulin market don't want to see other company to became popular in their segment. But it all cost to the patient. Years before this Diabetologia has published an article in which it was shown that the chances of developing cancer with Lantus is same as NPH and in some cancer Lantus score better than NPH. Now 60% of the Diabetic patients, who are on insulin, using NPH indifferent form whether in Premix form or direct NPH form. So the risk is higher in more no. of patients. Its all about marketing somebody want to grab the market share which is already made by Aventis. And in this issue patients are suffering. After hearing this type of massage patient will switch to other insulin by forcing their doctor or they will swith to some other Doc.There is a need of global healthcare advisory body who will see the articles which are going to publish in any journal or newspaer and they will approve whethet the article will be published or not. Because this type of information creat panic to the patients and disturb healthcare proffessional.

I have a friend that is suing the manufacturers of Avandia because she ended up having a heart attack after taking it. For those of you with problems with Avandia you should visit: http://www.ennislaw.com. That is the law firm that is handling her case. I don't understand how these drugs get on the market. The FDA needs to do a better job of protecting us.
