My sister, a long term diabetic, died of liver failure about 10 years ago, probably due to a medication she was taking for her diabetes. I am sure the medication has been taken off the market (I can't remember it's name). I have been taking a medication for high cholesterol and my dr. has recently noted a rise in readings in my blood work associated with liver function, and further tests have shown no visible problems in my liver. I have discontinued use of that drug (Lipitor).

I HAVE gone to 5 doctors now because of weight gain on diabetic RXs. An MD, a gastro guy, a gyno, an internist and a psychologist. I addressed each of these drs over a 5 year period about concerns of weight gain not consistend with 5 days a week in the gym. Finally after naming the individaul medications just last week to my DR that I suspected may be contributing to the overwhelming tiredness and weight gain, he blew it off AGAIN. Now today I read comments about the very medication I asked him about on this web site and find all of my alarming side effects listed in this comment section. Thank you for your honesty. Im angry right now but just maybe I will be able to embrace a more wholistic attitude becuase of what I know to be true. DOCTORS MAKE US SICK!!!

You can find the drugs that interact with Actos at International Drug Mart.

Few of the drugs that interact with Actos are Furosemide, Gemfibrozil and few others. on interaction the side effects occured are severe. So it is best to avoid taking these medications along with Actos in order to prevent complications.
