Thinking Pink Hasn't Helped Find Causes of Breast Cancer

I think that it is nice that people can be inspired to believe in something and that they can focus that negative energy and anger from this cancer on something that can help others. If everyone was so angry and thought negatively what a world that would be. I say let people believe and invest their money how they want. As long as they feel that they are doing the right thing.

My wife was one of the 110 deaths per day.....1-11-2010.....she lived to be 48 after 5 1/2 years of treatments , procedures, radiation and operations that did prolong her life, but never improved her quality of life.

There will never be a cure until the medical profession takes a stand against the giant agri-business . How can those who produce our food be more concerned with yield and profit than clean , nutritious, chemical free harvests ? I'm not blaming the farmers...I'm blaming those who produce and sell the insecticides , herbicides and genetically modified seeds. They give us tainted food and then the pharmaceutical companies keep us alive ....all for profit...of course !!

I am SO tired of the pink, pink, everywhere. Tired of the ads, walks, pink sneakers, etc. It's taken over every other cancer research as far as funding visibility. Heart disease is the number one killer of women. Let's spread some of the largesse of the PINK cancer, huh? I'd like to know the ratio of funding to research dollars as well. It has become like the 'green' symbol - non-effective.

Normalize Vit D ( 50 ng/ml) and total body stores of Iodine and Iodide. Check out Abraham and Brownstein's work (Iodine Project) and Vitamin D council's work. Risk likely goes waaayy down.

Why would the medical/pharma want to cure cancer? There is way more profit in treating it.

I think the answer is in gene research, if the WWJD crowd would realize this too, maybe we could find a cure for breast cancer and more importantly, other diseases that take 10x mor elives each year.

Quote from recent Pink walk money drive "we feel that wearing our pink and walking this weekend with others is the strongest possible thing we can do" Really? The truth is the whole Pink movement has become it's own industry that has no results to show for all the million$ donated. Do your homework and look at the Susan G foundation and where the money really goes before supporting this cause.Maybe if I put on a green t shirt and go skipping through the park it will magically cure my migranes, right? It's become popular and en vouge to either have found a lump or know someone who has breast cancer, just ask any of the Pinky's. It's become a fashionable, upper middle class cause that makes rich people feel better. Does't do a darn thing to stop cancer though. All the little pink sheep, marching to slaughter, get over yourselves already.

I am sorry but I am not sure how posting my bra color or where I like to stash my purse boosts awareness to breast cancer.ALL women AND men need to be aware of symptoms and early detection. go to http://www.breastcancer.org/symptoms/

Finding a cure for diseases such as breast cancer will end the profits of the pharmaceutical conglomerates and the cancer industry which make billions a year in treatments designed to keep people alive, pain-free and comfortable. If you see what type of research is done nowadays (www.clinicaltrials.gov and medwatch.com) you'll realize that the focus is on new ways of treatment -each one more expensive, and more profitable-; and not on finding the causes of diseases. What happened when it was discovered that the genes BRAC1 and BRAC2 predispose a women for cancer? It lead to more testing, more diagnosis, and early treatment approaches, not to a cure. Sadly, as long as profits are married to medical research and the pharma industry continues to cohabitate with the FDA, there won't be a cure found or allowed to develop for any diseases. I say this as someone who works for the medical industry.

For the record, I'm a survivor. Monday was my six year cancerversary. My mom also died from BC in 1992. My aunt was diagnosed a year before I was. So trust me, I'm aware.

If the pink ribbons help one person - 'cause men get BC, too - get a mammogram or do a breast self-exam, that's all good, but I've frankly had it with the 1/10th of one percent donation promises and that the lion's share of the donations seem to go to the Susan G. Komen foundation. I'd like that organization to start living up to the rest of their name - the "for the CURE" part.

There have been some wonderful treatments that have resulted from the last 20 years of research, which is great, but folks are still dying from this awful, awful disease. Raise the money with walks and runs, but I don't need reminders on my batteries, Tic-Tacs, pens, potato chips or eggs. BC is NOT pink or cute, nor should it be used as part of some huge marketing campaign to get folks to buy more crap. Remember that the next time you get asked to lick a lid and spend money on postage to send it in just so YoPlait can say how much they donated over the last 10 years on their new labels.

The "go pink" idea is simple, yet scary if you look at it close: All these by fund raising groups are simply puppets for big pharma, surgeons, chemotherapy advocates, and those thinking radiation is healthy. Yet let's get real: Simple remedies for Breast Cancer are mostly overlooked, yet have been verified for decades with thousands of testimonials - women who have achieved total remission from following nutritional guidelines while avoiding the chemicals, surgeries, and dangerous radiation. BreastHealing.info

I know women with tumors "miraculously" disappearing from simply eating correctly. Thousands of people have used Gerson therapies, deemed illegal in this country for one reason: They cure cancer without the "cut, slash and burn" regimen. Cancer is huge business, and one "positive diagnosis" often generates $hundreds of thousands for those in the biz, the same ones avoiding natural remedies simply because the AMA would slam them for questioning the mandate in the conventional hospitals, etc. Do your homework before contributing or supporting these organization needing your money to "find a cure" when they already exist, yet are not allowed - for obvious reasons. Frankly, I'm sick to death of pink.

My mother died 30 years ago of breast cancer. At least once a day (sometimes more) I am reminded of my (maybe) impending doom. I have to consider the idea of genetic testing and chopping out perfectly good organs, just in case.

I get all my mamograms and ultrasounds and MRIs. It's like living in a nightmare.

And to have to turn on the TV and see these celebrities who know nothing telling me to be aware, to go to the grocery store and have pink ribbons on my box of cereal, a constant reminder, makes me sick. I'm not interested in walking or running, and the pink ribbons are constant now, not just in October.

and to the freak; my mother never used birth control or had an abortion.
