In case you have not hear- and most have not- breast cancer is a vitamin D deficiency disease. Up to 80% of all breast cancer can be avoided by maintaining a healthy, natural level of activated vitamin D, year round. The experts recommend strongly a healthy level of at least 50 ng/ml, as measured by a 25 OH vitamin D test.

It has already been known for some years now that mastectomy and breast preservation have equilivant survival rates, even in patients with increased risk from genetic mutations. The goal of the breast specialist is therefore to encourage breast preservation whenever possible because of the improved cosmetic outcomes and better quality of life. However, despite these best efforts, the mastectomy rate continues to grow.
