A Blood Test for Colon Cancer Sounds Great—But It's Short on Proof

Look at the business they will lose. I myself refuse to go for colonoscopy, found out about this test and my primary just told me she has never heard of it. I'm just printing things out for her but in the meantime I get calls constantly from the two GI doctors I scheduled colonoscopies with and cancelled. Like they have no business and need to drum some up. I really think they will not like people getting screened thru bloodwork preliminarily and taking money out of their pockets.

Dr. Dean Edell referred today (12/29/10) to a blood test that could render colonoscopies obsolete. Looks to me like this has yet to be proven, although the reported fact that it was positive in ALL patients with stage I-III cancer is impressive.

It would so be easy to prove or disprove - just run the test on everyone getting colonscopies at office willing to participate, and see how they correlate. Am I missing something?
