Peppers are a staple on Salvadoran tables, along with potatoes, squash, cabbage, carrots, onions, tomatoes, plantains, coconut and mangos. Chefs also like to use nance, which is a cherry-like fruit. And ground pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds are often stirred into Salvadoran stews.
