The caldero, or “cauldron” in English, is a durable cooking pot that’s a must for Latin cooking. It’s typically used to prepare rice, beans, stews and roasts, and it’s lighter and easier to cook with than heavy Dutch ovens. Try using it to make Caribbean chicken and rice, or braised lamb shanks. These typically go for about $60.
