In 2012, the fast food industry spent $4.6 billion to advertise mostly unhealthy products – and children and teens were singled out as the key audience. That’s according to Fast Food FACTS 2013, a report released in November by the Yale Rudd Center for Food Policy & Obesity, which suggests that despite a few positive developments, restaurants have a long way to go to promote healthier fast-food options to kids.
