U.S. News & World Report expanded its consumer search tool Best Health Insurance Plans 2013-2014 Sept. 3, 2013, around the launch of state and federal health insurance marketplaces on Oct. 1. These online marketplaces, established under the Affordable Care Act, are designed to help consumers who do not have access to employer or government health plans to obtain coverage. U.S. News Best Health Insurance Plans provides a guide to state marketplaces, along with a tool to help consumers pick the best plans for themselves and their families, based on their budgets and location.
To further the conversation and to guide consumers' choices, U.S. News is holding a live Twitter chat about health insurance marketplaces. This chat will include experts from the Department of Health and Human Services and the National Patient Advocate Foundation.
Experts are prepared to discuss how the marketplaces work, how to evaluate costs, what to consider when selecting a plan, the benefits that will be included, and what resources are available, among other topics.
A Spanish translation of the chat, using the hashtag #OurSalud, will also take place. It will be moderated by Elianne Ramos (@ERGeekGoddess) from @LATISM and include experts from @CuidadoDeSalud and @NPAF_tweets.
Disclaimer: Please be aware that any of your tweets containing the hashtag may appear in a U.S. News health story about how to prepare for health insurance marketplaces.
