With every step we take forward in this country we take two steps back. The abortion fight was fought 40 years ago. Abortions are legal in this country. If you don't believe that having an abortion is right DON'T HAVE ONE but don't force your simple-minded, intolerant, ignorant views on me. Why is it that so much of this stupidity comes from our southern states? Why on earth didn't we let you sucede? Is it too late to correct that wrong? It seems as though we have one big trailer park below the Mason Dixon line.

They do not have any constitutional basis for getting our tax dollars! No moral ground either.

I don't even know anyone who has had an abortion (that I know of) but aborting would, IMO, be infinitely preferable to allowing a child to be adopted by some of the lowlife, misogynistic antichoice trash posting here and protesting clinics.

Abortion is murder and devastates the lives of women and their families. Choose life, choose adoption. There are people everywhere who will love and care for that little precious life inside you.

my Grandmother said that women were given the gift/responsibility of bringing life into this world. It seams that if that gift/responsibility is real, women should choose to bring that life into the world or not. With one option not being a choice. so I would believe the sincerity of the argument if comprehensive sex ed and birth control were also part of the pro-life view. As well as a call for the end of war, how is that not legal murder? there are too many mixed messages to believe the pro life suite if ideas as functional or healthy.

A woman has, and of right ought to have, complete control over the use and disposal of her body and its functions. This view upholds the right and the life of an actual human; it does not subordinate a woman to any supposed interests of a potential human being. This view supports the life of actual living human beings. This is the pro-life view.

What a joke! More Americans favor abortion??? Really now? How stupid do you think people are? he liberal left-wing-nuts at it again. Since when did 37% become a majority? That would mean twice as many oppose it. The wording sucks here. Harris needs to get a life. You just lost me. I am done with your polls!

The argument became FOR abortion rights once the right showed that they were completely unwilling to deal reasonably with this issue. I, personally, would not choose abortion but I don't believe that I have the right to decide for anyone else. The thing is - the right sees life starting at conception and the left does not. With this POV, it takes everything off the table - from the morning after pill to abortion. Convenient.

It is the typical stance of the current Republican, rightwing, Tea Party conservative. My way is the only way. They do it with religion, on social issues, and now with our economy. They portray their stance as being representative of the American people. Which of course it is, just a tiny minority of the populace.

We are a nation of many ideas, ideals, views, values. It is what makes us so incredibly diverse, resourceful and, frankly, envied. But with the positives of having such a variation of perspective come the negatives. We will not always get our way. We will not be able to stand firmly on our principle and say it is the be all and end all. It isn't because there are others that deserve a voice that think the polar opposite. With this "take no prisoners" mentality we all end up imprisoned by inaction, aggression, anger and misunderstanding.

I shake my head at the people that would even want this "right"...a legal form of murder...don't know how some people sleep at night...I never had testing for both of my unplanned babies & they are greatest gifts given to me...don't understand!!!
