Flying OK for Most Pregnant Women

I life in the US but I travel all the time, so my question is:
Commercial airlines allow pregnant women to fly up to 36 weeks of gestation, but:
What happen is you have less than 36 weeks of gestation?
Can you go through the electromagnetic security on airports, are you or your baby in risk?
