But no one talks about why these women have low B12 levels other than their meat intake. Gluten intolerance which can be caused by a diet high in gluten found in wheat can damage the small intestine and create malabsorbtion syndrome leaving people depleated in many nutrients, including B12 and folic acid. Let's start getting to the root of these problems by suggesting especially to pregnant women that they avoid gluten and eat a well rounded diet including clean, free range animal protein.

Ireland and Italy are two of the countried with the known highest rates of gluten intolerance/celiac disease in the world.
