Babies' Persistent Fussiness Could Mean Behavioral Woes Ahead

I agree with this in that I have witnessed the same thing in many children that I've known; however, shouldn't the focus be more on the CAUSE of the fussiness, etc...? ADHD has been found to be direct result of children not getting enough Omega-3 fatty acids in their diets. It's a disorder that is virtually unheard of in places like Japan where plenty of fish, which contains tons of these essential fats, is consumed. Babies who are breastfed also tend to be less fussy, as human milk is more easily digested by human babies, and mothers who breastfeed are "forced" to take the moments they are feeding their babies to focus completely on their baby and provide them w/the much-needed comforting and bonding that results from that. There also comes into play the many devices created for baby-comforting that result in detachment, and therefore, creates a baby who is more fussy/unhappy. Not to mention the many sleep-training and self-soothing techniques out there that involve practically ignoring a completely dependent infant. I think these are the things we all should be focusing on from the get-go. Prevention is always the key. Becoming more attached to our children and treating them with respect can and does prevent much of the fussing. Our children CANNOT learn compassion, respect for others, manners, etc... if we do not teach them, and we teach by our example, not only through our actions to other people, but also through our actions toward our children themselves.
