An awful lot of infants, in utero, in plastic formula bottles, in teethers, in drinking water, etc. are exposed to endocrine disrupting chemicals, such as Bisphenol-A (BPA, the plasticizer in packaging ?), so that their metabolic development is out of whack. Most diabesity is not the result of inactivity or junk food, but of exposures which have altered our ability to metabolize what we eat.This may not be evident until bursts in development and/or hormones, as at adolescence.
