Sleeplessness is something that has become a major concern in the United States. People that have trouble falling asleep usually suffer from sleeplessness. Most of the time stress is the primary factor is having difficulties trying to fall asleep. People that work too much or kids that study all night are two really good examples of this. Sleep is important in everyone life because when you sleep good you have a better chance of never getting anxiety attacks, being depressed or having heart problems. When you suffer from sleeplessness you are emotionally, physically and mentally unbalanced because your body has been deprived of sleep.
The U.S. is one of the biggest countries that suffers from sleeplessness. Sleeplessness affects people of all ages and recent studies have shown it. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reports that close to 60 million people in the U.S. suffer from sleeplessness or insomnia each year. In recent studies nearly two thirds of American adults have suffered or is currently suffering from sleeplessness. The chances of someone suffering from sleeplessness increases as we grow older.
Sleeplessness doesn’t just occur with adults but, also with adolescents as well. The children of the America are having trouble sleeping too. This mostly occurs in adolescents from ages 11-17 according to National Sleep Foundation. Only 20% of children get the recommended nine hours of sleep. While 45% of children get less than eight hours.
There are numerous things that can cause sleeplessness. Work, studying, divorces and death in the family are some of the reasons. However, everything ends up to be stress related. Stress is the leading cause in unusual sleep patterns. Studies have shown that large amounts of stress can cause a person to be a chronic-insomniac. Depression and anxiety are two other things that can cause a person to lose sleep. In recent scientific research done the Institute of HeartMath shows that this is all do to the incoherence of a person’s heart. The coherence of persons heart keeps them emotionally, physic ally and mentally sound.
A HeartMath tip would be to focus on your breathing before you go to sleep. Deep breaths in and out. Concentrate on positive feelings in your life. Try to make new feelings of love and passion every day. This will help you wake up and feel regenerated and refreshed. It will increase your awareness and emotional state of being. And you’ll be energized like never before.
